German-Indian MBA for engineers

The focus of the programme is to prepare the graduates for management positions in German companies operating in India and Indian companies operating as subsidiaries in Germany.

PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Coimbatore, in association with Hof University of Applied Sciences, Germany, will offer a two-year German-Indian Management Studies (GIMS)-MBA programme for Indian engineers from the ensuing academic year.

The programme will be offered for engineers, and graduates who have completed engineering-related courses, belonging to disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, environmental, process, materials and surface, besides others.

The degree should be from a technical university.

The focus of the programme is to prepare the graduates for management positions in German companies operating in India and Indian companies operating as subsidiaries in Germany.

Specialisations will be offered in such a way so as to enable them to take up positions such as sales managers, key account managers, project managers, procurement managers, and branch or regional managers.

The four semester programme will be spread out in campuses of both the partnering institutions.

The first semester will be held at PSG, while the second and third will be held at the German university. The fourth semester will be spent in a German or Indian company as a paid internship. The degree will be that of Hof University of Applied Sciences. German as a language will form part of the syllabus.

A degree from a recognised university and a minimum composite score of 600 in the Management Aptitude Test conducted by the All India Management Association or an equivalent test are mandatory. Issue of applications will begin from April 15. The second phase of issue will begin from June 2.

The selection process will involve written test for English language comprehension, group discussion and personal interview. For the first phase it will be from April to May and the second phase from June to July.
